Chendy Leon

His first percussion lesson at four years old taught from his father in San Antonio,
Cuba confirmed the acumen and love for all things percussion. By the age 18 he began his professional career performing and recording with many famous Cuban artists such as:

Rojitas and the Metropolis (band leader 94-98)
In 1998 Chendy co-wrote the music for a Cuban documentary, Policlinico Infernal, which was nominated for an Oscar.

Experienced in all styles of Cuban music he is one of the most “in demand” percussionist/drummer in Toronto.
Since 2006 he has been teaching world percussion and drums at Humber College, Lakeshore Campus.
